The Surface Properties of an Aviation Aluminum Alloy after Laser Cleaning

In this study, we explored the effects of a laser cleaning process on surface properties an aerospace aluminum alloy. We performed AA2024 Through SEM and EDS analyses alloy samples after cleaning, effect under different energy densities was studied. After residual stress, hardness, friction, wear tests were samples. The experimental results demonstrated that oxides could be effectively removed when density 10.5 J/cm2. With increase in density, friction improved. Laser also generate new hardened layer tensile stress AA2024. This article provides reference for applying field by studying structure mechanical cleaning.
